Freethink - Using our streets all wrong
Shot partly in Copenhagen with Gehl Architects, whose work on human-scale city planning runs through the whole episode. Freethink from USA has three times commissioned me to do this kind of local shooting in Copenhagen for them.

Story
An episode of Freethink's Hard Reset series about who cities are actually built for. The argument is that roughly 80 percent of road space goes to cars, while around 90 percent of the people using that space are on foot.
Times Square is the case. In 2001 architects put down temporary bike lanes, seating and planters to see what would happen. People took to them, and what started as an experiment stayed. The film calls this user-generated urbanism - the idea that the people who use a street are the ones best placed to redesign it.
